Teaching

Yi Kai
I have worked as professor of art in universities and art colleges for many years in China (see biography). After I moved to the United States 17 years ago I had the privilege to deliver numerous lectures and offer many workshops at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, the Minnesota Museum of American Arts, the University of Minnesota, and the UC Santa Barbara among others. I have been teaching art classes in my studio for many years. Many of my students have continued to to pursue a career in art and I am proud of my students. Some of them have won a number of awards in state and local art competitions. E.g. A 9 years old girl won first price in the Massachusetts 5 grade art competition in 2005; her prize included a contribution of $ 5,000 to her college fund and as a winner she also had a photo opportunity with the Governor of Massachusetts. Three of my students were accepted to different top art colleges in the nation. In my studio I can offer classes such as oil painting, drawing and Chinese traditional painting. Please email for current class details.
